Politics Tariffs/Trade Wars

That would be crippled if they had to pay proper delivery costs....this is one thing Trump admin have missed. The developing country subsidy for posting the junk.

Potentially?
Cost's less to recieve an item ftom China than to send to it from one town to another town.
Locally the deal includes low cost bulk delivery via their hub here.
Reverse on Alibaba for lots of goods they have a low unit cost but its in the hundreds instead of single on Aliexpress and exagerate the freight cost higher than what it is say from EU to NZ. They think we are stupid.

Am actually get better quality out of Ukraine flown in at a better price... getting Ukraine down bags and clothing this week that is what it says it is.

I do believe this is a slap around the face for the supply chain delivered by Trump. Imagine the shipment was midway and got the 125% tariff. You have to pay it and orders were cancelled and now renegotiated as there really is supply beyond China.
Under Armour is all over the globe. Ones that have done that already are feeling the affirmation and appreciation from their customers.

Its not all about the commerce either, the tete a tete. It can flare up like this it will happen again.
The postal fee difference is very unfair for competition indeed as China isn't the underdeveloped country it used to be. The postal workers are getting drowned in Chinese instant fashion and at the same time it costs 50-100Eur to send a simple Christmas package from the EU to the US.

Don't know why these things persist. Especially here were we are so environmentally friendly. Helping China pollute the World more. All the concrete alone they poured into uneeded infrastructure...

And yes its prohibitively expensive to send things between the US and EU.

I always bring (US) Cheerios with me (have a little extra bag) because ordering them in Europe and have them delivered they take 50 or more bucks for 5 boxes of cereals.

Kills the market between us.

China wouldn't get on their knees for him, so now he's trying the same dirty manipulation on the EU. It is yet again Americans who will pay all these costs, incredible he keeps shooting them all in the foot.

Hasn’t New Zealand just ditched net zero?

Let’s see what Starmer does.

So, 30% in July didn't work, so try 50% in June.

Let's see, it's just a few days away.

But how does the monetary side benefit Europe? Euro has been more expensive for a while.

Interesting that he is citing problems in services (lawsuits) as a basis for deficit in which he only includes goods (250G$).

The new budget allocates 200 mill for gas exploration...the green press goes into tears with article how it will damage trade deals.
Canada spends 21 billion on oil subsidies...has trade deal with EU. Its for gas so we don't use coal stupid.
Though the trade deal was signed when taxcindy was running the place so who knows what she jotted down. She was great at hamstringing the country, after getting voted out they literally gloated over the debt they created and hadn't included it in treasury accounts...how they aren't in prison I have no idea.
They should be able to be sued atleast like everyone else..why not.

US trade policy changed in a weekend, 50% tariffs for EU delayed until July.

in 2 weeks he will say 50% tariffs again

and then in 2.5 week he will say back to talk

and then in 5 weeks he will say 100% tariffs...

and then ...

As to the reasoning of those "activist judges", why didn't Trump just ask Congress to authorise his tariffs? Shouldn't he have a solid majority for them?

It doesn't work that way. He obviously has the authority.

Just the same as activist judges who are trying to bring back deported illegal alien, criminal gangsters who have been sent back home to a Salvadoran prison.

Congress does not agree Trump has such authority. There needs to be a national emergency.

It´s been weirdly funny seeing the tariffs rocket up until brought back down by the current administration, but the executive branch to impose tariffs remains under the watch of Congress.
