Zombieland was pretty good but mostly because of Woody Harrelson and the Bill Murray pothead cameo, it’s pretty boring at times too. The Cornetto Trilogy is better, I think.
Not ground-breaking, but entertaining nonetheless. Lots of references to various movies (Abyss), books (Lovecraft), etc... which contributes to expand the dimension of the movie, especially with the Lovecraftian references.
Vivarium.
Pretty good and fairly unsettling. Felt a bit "similar", to some extend, vibe wise at least, to the youtube short-movies That House Has People In It and Too Many Cooks.
Russian flick: T34. The Russian wanted their own film "fury" I guess. Very stronk.
Entertaining scenes, especially shots from above but way too many super slow motion scenes showing ammo colliding with one another... Or penetrating partially the tanks.
Good idea that could have been developed more is the rivalry between the German and Russian officers.

It's a complete garbage. A modern take on a very good, but forgotten Soviet movie "Skylark" from 1964. Although, that movie was based on an made-up story, but definitely within a realm of historical possibility, the modern remake is made for a younger generation so "it won't forget the sacrifices of their ancestors". T-34 is available on Amazon Prime (at least in the US), but I cannot recommend it.
I was a fan of MISS FISHER MURDER MYSTERIES when it was on TV a few years back. This movie I guess is an attempt for come back, but honestly it blows. Maybe my tastes have changed, maybe what worked for a TV show doesn't work for a movie, but this movie in my opinion is a pale shadow of the TV series. It's very low budget, the dialogue is forced and not really witty, fast pace used to cover simplistic plot and cost cutting everywhere. In short skip the movie, I chase down the episodes of the TV show.
Ford Vs Ferrari (Though for some reason it was renamed 'Le Mans 66' here in the UK)
True story of Ford looking to end Ferrari's dominance of the Le Mans 24 hour race in the early to mid 60s. Christian Bale and Matt Damon are great as Ken Miles (Driver) and Carrol Shelby (Designer/engineer) and the whole film is just genuinely enjoyable, including not just the rivalry between the two teams, but also the interference from Ford executives.
Would definitely recommend but will admit that I was always going to have a soft spot for it since despite having no interest in motorsports, I've actually been to the race four or five times.
I've just been watching it again on Qantas, although no doubt by the time I get in the air again it won't be showing. I've got about half an hour to go.
Excellent.
Since I'm Jewish this was a required viewing, as for the rest... you can skip it. It's soooooooooo boooooooooooooring. Very uneven pace. 1 st hour is very slow, and the pace of the 2nd hour is frenetic. Honestly, I expected a better product. And Roman Polanski should really stop casting his wife. She aged prematurely and was a poor fit for the role.
Well, that’s a drama/dark comedy and I have to say this was all rather well acted, surprising and suitably creepy at times.
In short: two women begins a friendship over a few days, before one of them suddenly vanish. Why, where and how are the key points of the movie, so I’ll spare you any spoilers.
Worth watching if you have two hours to kill during the quarantine. It’s good, not groundbreaking either but these are my kind of flicks, many plot twists and all.
Second movie for the day, I'm on a bit of a roll. This was excellent. Turkish movie taking place in 2004, a mentally disabled man is raising his daughter while living with his grandmother.
Only thing I can tell you is that he'll be (wrongly) accused of murdering a young girl who was playing with his own daughter...
The rest, watch for yourself. I'm very impressed, very moving film, and the plot twist in the end might bring a tear to your eyes, seriously.
I´ve gotta say this is a pretty good picture. The combat scenes really give a good punch, and the characters are also interesting, with that burden the staff sargeant carries.
I suppose we´ve all seen it here.
Now launched "Meg" (Megalodon) on Netflix. I am expecting one of the most stupid films I have ever watched in my life, I just hope it´s entertaining.
Just finished "Solo".... .... It was OK. I've started to not hope for too much, and that helps! I will be honest and say that the visuals of the interesting costumes and the landscapes are more what I enjoy than any hope of personal sympathy for characters and the discovery of any sort of plot. ;-)
Now I'm watching the 1960's Peter Sellers comedy, "After The Fox". Very much a creature of the era in which is was produced.
