Food & drink What are you drinking?

Limes, you say? Well, I think you are correct Mr Fish and Chips. They really do something nice.

I put some lime juice and pulp in a glass of ice with some club soda and a splash of vanilla rum and it was very refreshing!

As we say goodbye to summer, tonight I will be sampling the following....

Probably be moving onto darker, maltier ales as the nights draw in.
I do have a real craving for a marzen style beer but they are so hard to come across in the UK!

Properly poured/served, just like they do in Dublin...

Downsizer, I'm thinking one of the reasons I like Oktoberfest beers is the higher level of maltiness!

As a salute to the last "for sure" warm night at this change from Summer to Fall, I'm having another of the New Belgium Mural Agua Fresca Cerveza.

Recently I've been having a few Coors Originals in the stubby bottles. Feeling a bit thrifty, and they hit the spot at the high end of the affordable mainstream US lagers.

This one's been sitting in the fridge out in the garage for a few months, gift from my wife:

Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout. It's a chilly and damp day here in southern Idaho and I've got a bit of a relapse in a head cold going on. Enough of a relapse that I did not go out with the dog to the nearest mountain range to test my cold weather gear and get a hike in.

Anyway, a nice dark, warming stout. Very dark in color with chocolate toned collar (head) and a sweet bourbon taste throughout the tasting. Highly recommended.

This is My weekly ration, almost like the military itself

Haven’t had anything from Meantime in a while; and first time cracking open that one:

It’s good; maybe only average to those who enjoy higher ABV IPAs (this one is only 4,7%) but it’s still enjoyable despite it not being a hop bomb and lacking some flavors.

Every once and a while, I enjoy an Old Speckled Hen, nitro charged can, from jolly old England. Very smooth and mild.

Got back the pub last night at about 10 but still wanted something so hit the gin. Both of these were brithday gifts and are supremely drinkable. I then started drunk-texting LAWorkerBee.

A Hefe-Weissbier from München, Paulaner makes for a nice change from my usual British, Murican, Belgian treats:

@Gaz, I’d actually appreciate if you could bring LAWB around here, if he wants to anyway.

Sexting what LaWorkerBee? That's a very long distance relationship! ;-)

Anyway: I'm very happy to see that Alaskan Brewing has decided to distribute their excellent varietal olde ale, Winter Ale, here in the great State of Idaho!

Got my first six pack and am enjoying one bottle right now!

PilsnerUrquell from Czech, this goes down way too fast...
