There was a firefight with the Russian forces over a downed Orlan-10 drone. usually, Russians don't care about the loss of their most basic UAV, but apparently this one was "special" equipped with "hyperspectral camera" (sorry, I could be way off). The housing was damaged but the camera is apparently intact. It's unknown whether Ukrainian companies can make a "copy" of it, but at least they'll have an opportunity to disect and study it.

Vasyl Krischuk, forever 36. He was killed in a firefight with a Russian patrol on August 18th, 2018. 14th Infantry Brigade. He leaves behind, a grieving mother, wife, and two young sons aged 4 and 7.

Heavy losses today, August 23rd. Russian forces launched an attack on Ukrainian positions near the town of Bakhmut. 4 Ukrainian soldiers, all members of Aidar battalion 24th Infantry brigade were killed during a 5 hour engagement with the Russian regulars.

Rest in Peace warriors. Sad news indeed ....

It was expected. Today is the national flag day, tomorrow is the independence day. So, ever more heavy fighting most likely will occur tomorrow and over the weekend. This is a "tradition" for all Ukrainian national holidays.

Giving a salute to the wall of honor to the nearly four thousand Ukrainian military and security forces personnel KIA fighting against the Russian invaders. These Ukrainian American Veterans are currently in Ukraine overseeing the efforts to bring wounded Ukrainian soldiers to the US military hospitals as a part of the US Government aid package to Ukraine.
