Taking into account the architectural style of the house, the sunny weather and the fact that the trees seem to be blooming, I would say that the pic was taken at the very end of the war. The 696th Armored Field Artillery Battalion finished the war in Hungen, in the Land of Hesse, Germany. So my best guess would be that the pic was taken somewhere not to far from there.
