My name is Dennis, and was introduced to this site by a friend who has similar WW2 interests. I joined the R.A.F. in April 1947, and served 8 years regular engagement, being trained as an aircraft engine fitter. My postings included Cosford, Henlow, Bassingbourne , Luqa (Malta), Lyneham and Cottesmore. My father was a regular soldier, served in India pre-war, B.E.F. 1939-40, was taken P.O.W. at Tobruk,1942. He suffered the Long March to Freedom from Stalag VIIIa in 1945.
