MG Chris Vokes was a tough as nails battlefield commander for the Canadian Forces in Italy and then in NW Europe. He speaks of his early career in the Canadian militia, going to school in England and then rising in the ranks to becoming the CG, Canadian Occupation Forces in Germany.
He talks about his working with Gen.Montgomery, his Canadian bosses and his relationship with the soldiers that served under him. A great read so enjoy.
