see these guys riding down to the national memorial arboretum every year, its an impressive sight

Today is the day of our annual Ride to the wall, the wall is situated at Alrewas, Staffordshire, England and is similar to the American Rolling Thunder Ride.

To view this content we will need your consent to set third party cookies.
For more detailed information, see our cookies page.

This will be my 4th ride to the wall and I look forward to honouring our brothers and sisters who gave so much for our country and for the world.
I will have a passenger again this year, my brother will be riding with me again, his presence is particularly poignant because he is the father of my nephew Royal Marine Paul Warren who was killed in Afghanistan on 21 June 2010 whilst serving with Charlie Company 40 Commando.

I will post some pics when I return later today.

After my last ride in 2016 whilst sat at home I felt the need to put the ride into words, emotions were running high and this is the product of that. It was a wet day last year and I was writing this whilst still drying out. Hope you like it. (Im not a poet though so dont e too hard on me ;) )

Sacred land and stone is where we roam
Leather clad pilgrims soaked to the bone
Laugh and cry we are not ashamed
To pay respect to all those named

Every year engines roar and spirits shine
When we visit their sacred shrine
We will not forget sacrifices made
Pride and passion we will not evade.

For they are ours and we are theirs
Riding single or in pairs
we will hold them dear throughout the year
Our ride to Alrewas will bring a tear.

Along the way and on the overpasses
Stand men children and lasses
With flags and cheers they support our ride
While we thunder on with pride.

So lets rejoice those names on the wall
And clean the chariots for next years haul
I for one will ride , or crawl
To be with you again, one and all

Ride safe everybody !

Looking forward to seeing you and the missus there @28th61st

On the day you will see many ordinarily tough men cry, it is moving and yet good for the soul. I love this day of the year spending time with my fellow bikers and supporting each other while we remember our lost heroes. Roll on the next one. Respect and Remember!

Well the day of our ride of respect has come around again, the first Saturday of October every year we ride to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, England. The main memorial at the arboretum commemorates all service personnel lost post WW2 although the grounds around the memorial commemorate pretty much every Regiment, Corps and service etc from all wars and conflicts.

Usually about 6-7K bikes attend, its amazing. Its usually raining and this year looks like that will be the case too but we dont care we still go to remember them all.

I will post some pictures on my return

Rides safe & respect

Well done Andy and hope to see the pics when you get back. We have similar here in Oz but it's called Ride To The Wall and brings bikers from all over the country to Canberra. I don't have a bike but several hundred go from Perth in convoy to Canberra and back, a round trip of about 4500km's

Here are a few pictures shared from the official Ride to the wall Facebook page.

It was a wet ride down but brightened up when we arrived and for the ride back. Great day though

Less of an outlaw feel about your groups. Our military bike mobs generally mimic the 1%ers, with 3 piece colours and what not.

Yes mate most biker groups here are very pro military and remembrance although we do have a few outlaw type clubs, dont get involved with them myself.
