Hey...just found this site and thought I'd pop in to see how things are here and to possibly network.

I spent 14 years in the Marine's and was medically retired in July of 07.

I moved here to Virginia with my wife to her hometown to settle down.

I'm now fighting the VA tooth, nail, and claw in a appeal and have hit a brick wall....hired a lawyer, asked for the assistance of a Senator and Congressman, all to no avail. I call up to the Roanoke RO and am told my case is "sensitive" and they can't or wont tell me anything. Big surprise.

The VA has become my hobby now...I'm not going to shut up until this is resolved, it's personal now...my wife and child are being affected by their ignorance and lack of compassion...this is personal.

I hope to speak with some of you who have had positive outcomes with the VA nightmare, it will give me hope to keep going at them by any means necessary to have justice done for myself and my family.

Welcome to MI.Net mate, you are most welcome here.
I am a Brit and have no knowledge how the American VA operates however your plight is emulated here in the UK.
One of our members Rocky is more up to date regarding the VA, perhaps you could send him a private message and he may be able to help you. We have not seen hom online lately for whatever reason (and whatever the reason is we will understand) but give him a call and see what he can do for you.

once again welcome and as a lot of the VN vets say here on MI.net " Thank you for your service"

regards
Bombardier

Semper Fi Marine,
Hello from North Carolina. Bombardier is right about our fellow member Rocky. He is one determined advocate for veterans and he knows the VA system intimately. He will be able to assist you I'm sure, if not he will know which way to point you. I gave him a heads-up on his Ranger site and I'm sure you will hear from him soon, he's that kind of a man. Between Bombardier and Rocky looking out for you, you can't go wrong.
Semper Fi, Scott

Very strange, not hearing anymore from this poster. An offer of possible help was made with good intentions and when I contacted Rocky, he was more than happy to offer his assistance, if only contacted by VACharvel. I hope all is well with you and you have a positive outcome to your problems with the VA.

I don't know if you've gone this route yet, but you might try talking to your local chapter of the AMERICAN LEGION. Their Service Officer can really help you cut through the RED TAPE!!
