This was recovered by fishermen 18 degrees 1 minute latitude North, 106 degrees 55 minutes longitude east of Hon La coast (Quang Trach district, 26 nautical miles northeast. I don't think it has yet been identified by the local government.

Here is another photo

Could be a part of Malaysian airlines MH370 that disappeared on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, to its destination, Beijing Capital International Airport in China

On reflection it is a Pylon and may have come from a Vietnam War era aircraft they may have operated in that area from US Carriers.
Doesnt look like one from an F4 though (could be wrong)

Ahem.. since I served with the USN for 20 years I can see something on that pylon that others may not see. I see the Bureau number..It is 15142?..so here . It is one of these three aircraft that was lost during the Vietnam war..

It was an F-4 Phantom. B model I think.

151421 (MSN 398) with VMFA-542 damaged by ground fire and crashed into sea off Da Nang AB, South Vietnam Jul 2, 1967.
Both crew KIA

151423 (MSN 402) with VMFA-323 crashed into sea off Da Nang AB, South Vietnam due to battle damage Oct 29, 1967

151425 (MSN 406) with VF-96 crashed into Gulf of Tonkin after bad launch off USS Coral Sea Apr 9, 1965
