Geelong, AUSTRALIA – A U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor from the 90th Fighter Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, pulls upward into the sky causing vapor contrails in an aerial demonstration during the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition (AVALON) March 5. The F-22 Demonstration Team from Langley Air Force Base, Va., impressed the crowd for multiple days during the air show. AVALON 2017 is an ideal forum to showcase U.S. defense aircraft and equipment, particularly the latest in fifth generation capabilities such as the F-22 and F-35 Lightning II and it is the largest, most comprehensive event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, attracting aviation and aerospace professions, key defense personnel, aviation enthusiasts and the general public. The U.S. participates in AVALON and other similar events to demonstrate the U.S. commitment to regional security and stability. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. John Gordinier)

UK F-35B Lightning II

One of the first United Kingdom F-35B Lightning II aircraft is silhouetted at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, USA in the early morning sun, prior to the day's training sorties.

Personnel from the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force were at Eglin AFB familiarising themselves with F-35 air and ground procedures.

The F-35B Lightning II will place the UK at the forefront of fighter technology, giving the Royal Air Force a true multi-role all weather, day and night capability, able to operate from well-established land bases, deployed locations or the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers.

A Navy F-35C, a Marine Corps F-35B, and an Air Force F-35A Lightning II participate in a training sortie together May 21, near Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. All three variants of the fifth generation multirole stealth fighter are hosted at Eglin by the 33rd Fighter Wing. The wing’s F-35 Integrated Training Center at Eglin surpassed 5,000 combined training sorties May 28, contributing more than a third of all sorties in the Department of Defense’s F-35 program. The F-35 is designed with the stealth, electronic warfare, and multi-spectral fused sensor capabilities, which will increase lethality and survivability in a contested environment. Back in September 2016 it was stated that USMC F-35Bs would first deploy aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth. For the full story follow the link.

US Marine Corps to fly F-35s from HMS Queen Elizabeth as UK won't have enough jets

UK Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has confirmed that the US Marine Corps will be flying F-35Bs from HMS Queen Elizabeth on the aircraft's carrier's maiden operational deployment.

He said: “I can welcome the commitment of the United States to deploying F-35s on the first operational deployment of Queen Elizabeth – the HMS Queen Elizabeth in 2021. And in the fullness of time, we expect our F-35s to be welcome on the American carriers.”

Fallon confirmed the deployment while giving a joint press conference on Wednesday at London's Lancaster House with US Defence Secretary Ash Carter.

"We value very much having such a partner in the United Kingdom because that's a commitment the United States shares as well, one that both of our countries, in fact, has stood for together and stood for together 75 years ago this month," said Secretary Carter, "when President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Churchill issued the Atlantic Charter."

Interesting article mate.
Also interesting was the mention that the UK will be adopting US carrier practices, didnt realise we did things that differently?
