However, her actual job means that she cannot voice opinions like this - and her contract of employment will be quite clear about public expressions of this nature (and that is why she was sacked)

I would guess that if you went on TV and said that you wished all Airbus aircraft with Rolls Royce engines crashed, then you would also be out of a job - if you had something against Airbus or Rolls Royce

What she actually said was inconsistent with the role/job she had - It's as straight forward as that

That's how I feel some Tory voters are - they complain about the NHS not being up to scratch whilst consistently voting for a party that cuts funding to the NHS. And they complain about law and order, whilst consistently voting for a party that cuts police and CPS funding.

And she never said she wouldn't treat a Tory voter, just that they didn't deserve it and whilst I wouldn't have put it in as harsh terms as she has - I get it.

If I knew exactly what you do for a job, I probably would have made a better, more pointed analogy. But you could see where I was going with that - you just cannot express opinions which conflict with the job you hold.

We could argue all night about the funding of the NHS - it's overblown and is not value for money. Mrs BCN used to be a District Nurse at the sharp end - their management was quite frankly overblown and overpaid. In the end, she spent more time filling out irrelevant box ticking paperwork and going on woke courses than she did doing the job she loved, which was helping and caring for people.

I did spend a week in Derby hospital some time ago now, and they saved my life. Staff were superb, and the Scottish matron certainly knew how to run a surgical ward. What I did notice though was about 3:30 every day a group of about 16 people walked down the corridor and stuck their head through the door and counted the beds and the patients. They were counting the number of occupied beds - what a complete and utter waste of time and resources. But there you go, and I bet those 16 were on a lot more money than any of the nursing staff

I am pretty critical of the Tories as well as Liebour - liberal with a small L - I would not mind paying more tax if we had a more efficient NHS - better defence, decent police force/border control and no foreign aid

Both major parties have simply gone on a spend spend spend and saddled us with a huge amount of debt - another 10 years of austerity - inflation - house repossessions and bankruptcy. No more boom and bust

Sad thing is some of the pension fund managers have been playing roulette with other people's hard saved money

The pension fund managers won't suffer, it will be the poor SOB's who have invested money with them

Same as the Financial crash in 2008/2009 where Gordon Clown bailed out the bankers using the NIF to the tune of £280BN - the bankers and their bonuses did not suffer - it just added another year or 6 in some peoples cases to their retirement pension date
So the bankers did not suffer, it was ordinary people who paid the biggest price - and still are paying the price
A considerable number of people will die before they ever get a state pension - work till you drop

BOE should have increased interest rates long before they did and stop messing about - the 'crisis' we have is of the BOE making

You now have inflation - energy crisis and mortgage rates going through the roof - perfect storm - Interest rates need to be up around 10%

Will be interesting to see how the Government massages the September inflation rate to try and pay pensioners and benefit claimants less

Conservatives are already looking at another way of calculating pension/benefit increases to reduce the amount paid

There is plenty of money in the UK, we just waste it on stupid things like foreign aid and immigrants who come here to leech off the system
