Regarding the crash of a naval patrol plane in Donghae-myeon, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do on the afternoon of the 29th, Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo requested that all necessary administrative power be mobilized to do the best possible job of rescuing lives.
The governor issued an emergency message immediately after the accident that day, ordering, "We will do our best to rescue people by cooperating with relevant organizations such as the fire department, administration, and military, and mobilize all necessary administrative power to provide support."
He also said, "The responsible organization should establish an organic cooperative system with Pohang City, the fire department, etc. and respond directly on site," and "Make every effort to prevent secondary damage, such as preventing the spread of the fire."
Meanwhile, at around 1:52 PM on this day, a Navy old maritime patrol aircraft (P-3C) crashed in a field in Sinjeong-ri, Donghae-myeon, Nam-gu, Pohang-si. The patrol aircraft took off from Pohang Air Base at around 1:43 PM on this day for training, and it is reported that there were 4 people on board, including the pilot, at the time of the accident. The number of casualties, including crew members, and the exact circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
