Heres the typical day of two military men of different rank


Sargent Bill E. Bob-

• Wake up at 02:00 hours
• complete 5 mile run
• do 75 pushups
• 80 situps
• Ride on bumpy rode in a humvee next to sweaty Pvts to HQ
• Get orders
• Board Plane Fly to LZ
• Stub toe jumping out the cargo door
• hit the LZ find out HQ didnt send the AT weapons or Coffee
• Get pinned down by hundreds of enemies
• Rally men, create a stunning display of military strategy, flank enemy, anhiallate them and call in choppers
• Return to HQ, keep troops from Wringing the brasses neck
• Get a pat on the back and return home
• Repeat for 20 years until retirement

Lt. Dan Aims

• wake up at 07:00
• Grab a starbucks coffee on the way to the base
• Stop at HQ store and get some mints
• Find out Sgt Bob has taken the platoon on a Patrol, decide to catch a chopper to the LZ
• Find out you forgot to tape the Terminator movie
• Run home to fix VCR
• Head back to HQ
• Find Sgt Bob, cogragulate him on a job well done,
• Recieve medal for leadership of men from a general who was in hawaii but had to fly over to meet the young officer who drug his men through the fire to saftey.

That seams like it. When I was kid, I knew a guy who was a dough boy in WWI. His suggestion was to become a officer. He commented it is better to ride than walk.
