That sight is $hit. Very crude. The glass is awful, and don't get me started on the quality of materials and construction.

Yeah I can heard Lucas in the video telling about the $hitty sight

Conscripts? nope, those are soldiers from II infantry brigade, and judging from fact one of the soldier has AKS-74U, probably recon unit, a very elite and professional unit, in fact one of the best in army.

Good pictures nevertheless

East German AKs in Action
Many AK type rifles were produced in East Germany, including copies of original AK - the MPi-K, copies of AKM - MPi-KM, and copies of AK-74 - MPi - AK-74. It is said that those rifles are excellently made and of very high quality, they are not common rifles around the world and can be encountered rather rarely compared to Soviet, Chinese or Romanian AKs. East German rifles can be identified with dark plastic furniture, or mix of plastic and wooden furniture on the handguard, MPi-KM models also had unique dotted plastic stock, only found on even more rare Ethiopian made AKs, folding stock variants had Romanian style "wire" side-folding stocks. East Germany also produced some rare carbine variants of AK-74.

Romanian copies of AKM in action around the world
Romanian versions of AKM are called PM md.63 (export name AIM), they are almost identical to AKM but have one big difference which makes them very easy to recognize - wooden grip on the handguard. PM md.65 (export name AIMS) is a version with AKS style under folding stock, later made variants came with wire style folding stock. PM md 86 is Romanian copy of AK-74 and is very rare, can be only found in Georgia and Romania, while AKM copies are on of the most common AK types and can be encountered everywhere around the world.
