Photos AK and its derivatives in action

I got the chance to shoot the AK-47 with the Colombian Army. Probably it was a Bulgarian or rumanian version of the AK-47, honestly I dont know wich version it was. This AK was confiscated to the leftist guerrillas of the FARC or ELN in Colombia by the Colombian Army

That sir is East German made copy of AKM - MPi KM, it can be easily identified by plastic stock with "dots" pattern (only present on East German and Ethiopian made AKs) and little pattern on lower handguard. those are actually very high quality rifles, i hope i get to shoot them one day.

Featured AK variant in action - AKS-74U
AKS-74U is a shortened version of AK-74, which was developed in late 1970s, it is 400 grams lighter than AK-74, but is much more compact, it is usually used by vehicle crews, Helicopter pilots, high ranking officers or anyone whos primary weapon is not rifle or does not needs it that much. it is also popular within police forces of post-soviet countries. I personally never get the idea of this rifle, AKS-74 is just 300 grams heavier and is pretty compact as well with folded stock, and 74U offers much reduced firing specifications than full lenght rifle, it is not suited for continuous automatic fire and is not very accurate either, however, I find this carabine extremely cool looking. Enough talking, now photos.

A fellow individual also liked this rifle, so because of that it has become some sort of symbolic weapon in middle east, even up to this day (abu bakr al baghdadi also had one)...

AKS-74U also appears on battlefields of Syria. As of case with AK-74M, it was mostly used by Syrian special forces and elite army units before the war, in current war, it is used by all sides, but more often by Pro-assad forces. In this picture you can see Syrian rebel with AKS-74U

This is actually Odessa, May 2nd 2014 when pro-Russian thugs mostly from Russia and Transnistria and with tacit approval from the local law enforcement opened fire on Pro-Ukrainian demonstration. A tragedy unfolded later on, but in the end the city was spared the fate of being another "people's republic".
