Nurse Pilyavskaya evacuated 15 wounded solders from the battlefield

Found her in "Memory of Nation" database - Pilyavskaya Yekaterina Pavlovna , born 1923, has 2 awards , "For Battle Merit" 08.03.42 and "For Courage" 09.07.43 - all for evacuations of wounded solders from battlefields . No information about KIA, probably, she survived the war.

Also found him in memory of nation , he survived war (has Medal for Victory over Germany , and order of Patriotic war in 1985 year)
Dobryagin Vlas Grigorievich , born 1912, since 1941 in combat units, all war he fought in IPTAP (Anti-tank artillery regiment ), also has Order of Lenin 07.08.43 . In all his award documents - he was always on the fronline , destroying enemy armour, repelling counter-attacks ,was in 150 km deep raid during operation Uranus (according to documents his artillery battery lost only one truck, but destoroyed 8 tanks, 9 trucks with cargo and infantry , 1 watching post , 4 bunkers , 1 - 150mm artillery gun, 4 SPGs , 1 - AT-gun )

Brave and Courageous

Fearless machinegunner Marusya Scherbak


Scherbak Maria Kuzminichna (born 1925) . Russian sources has a lot of information about her. Since war begun , she worked in hospital , 2 her brothers fall in battles , then she added 2 years in documents , was enlisted , finished machine gunner сourses and were sent to 654 rifle regiment , 148 rifle division. From award document" 11 february 1943 in battle for Bakhmatnye Vyselki enemy count-attacked and tried to encircle our rifle troops and regiment HQ , Maria Kuzminichna opened fire and gave time for HQ to relocation . " She survived the war , passed at the age of 70.

Peredriy Konstatin Vasilievich has 3 medals for courage and later in 1944 he was awarded with Order of Glory , survived the war , i found medical demobilisation document dated august 1945 .

Hero of the Soviet Union senior sergeant A. Lazarev

According to award document : "On September 23, 1943, Lazarev with his mortar crew crossed the Dnieper River near the village of Komarinand took an active part in the battles for the capture and defending of the bridgehead on its western bank. During the battle for the village of Posudovo in the same area, being surrounded, Lazarev organized a circular defense, and then successfully broke through it . Lazarev's crew inflicted heavy losses on the enemy in manpower, he withdrawn from the battle without losses". On 9 march 1945 he fall in battle in Hungary .

Hero of the Soviet Union G. Basmanov

Basmanov Gavriil Ivanovich (born 1920) , from documents :" On September 23-25, 1943, G. I. Basmanov was one of the first to cross to the western bank of the Dnieper River north of the village of Komarin and established contact with the command. In a fierce battle with a numerically superior enemy, G. I. Basmanov proved himself a brave fighter. Having made his way with a small group of scouts to the rear of the Germans, G. I. Basmanov bring important information about the enemy to the command. On their return, the scouts took fight with a group of enemy soldiers . Basmanov killed10 Germans with grenades, made his way to our positions and carried a wounded soldier out of the battle."

After heavy wounds in 1944 , he was demobilized , returned to homeland and passed on 1 march 1945 .

Hero of the Soviet Uion M. Yakhogoev

Yakhogoev Mikhail Ardashukovich (born 1919) . From documents :
During the crossing of Desna he was a signal solder of a battery of 120-millimeter mortars, he established communication and maintained it in difficult combat conditions.During the crossing of the Dnieper in the autumn of 1943, he participated in the reconnaissance and crossing of fighters. Eight times under heavy fire he repaired damages of the communication lines.

He survived the war, participated in Victory parade on Red Square in 1945, passed away in 1990 year.

Semyon Papulov (born 1916) , from documents : "At the end of 1943, Papulov's company crossed the Desna River near the village of Obolonye i and сaptured a bridgehead on its western bank, after which he repelled German counterattacks. In those battles, Papulov personally destroyed about 40 enemy soldiers and officers and machine gun crew " Semyon Papulov fall in battle on 6.11.43
