India's carriers! Just like all their other procurement policies, they are a hodge podge of procurement from the east and the west. On one side we have the Vikramaditya, with its Soviet origin and Russian powerplants which have been proven to be problematic. The new Vikrant is Indian built with American powerplants and Israeli radars on the island. The problem with this carrier is that it is Indian, almost a decade late and still being fitted out for service. Atleast the powerplants used are shared by Shivalik class of frigates and the new Nilgiri class of frigates. Delhis and Kolkatas and the new Vizags all share Ukranian powerplants also seen on the Talwar class. The Godavaris and Brahmaputras have steam propulsion instead of gas turbines. Another maintenance and logistics nightmare.
