Major 90720, 5th Coldstream Guards, killed by a Sniper in Belgium 10th September 1944 aged 26. Mentioned in Despatches.
(Served as The Marquis of HARTINGTON). Son of Edward William Spencer Cavendish, K.G., 10th Duke of Devonshire, and the Duchess of Devonshire, of Chatsworth, Derbyshire, husband of Kathleen Agnes Kennedy, Marchioness of Hartington, of Westminster, London, who he married on the 6th May 1944 at the registery Office, Chelsea Town Hall. His wife was killed in a plane crash in France.

He is mentioned on his wife's memorial at St Peter's churchyard, Edensor, Derbyshire and is at rest in Leopoldsburg War Cemetery, Belgium
