In 1992, the UDR was amalgamated with the Royal Irish Rangers to form the Royal Irish Regiment. In 2006, the regiment was retroactively awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, which entitled it to be known as The Ulster Defence Regiment CGC

That is the wrong insignia (badge) of the Ulster Defence Regiment.

@Rab Can you enlighten us a little more, what is the right insignia?

I am hoping @Rab can let us know as all my searching has shown the image above for the UDR to be correct mil-smile11

Likewise mate, although I did find some very subtle variations of the insignia this does represent the flag pretty well.

Hopefully @Rab will show us the correct insignia as I am not aware of a different one. One lives and learns.
