Connie May WOODMAN. Daughter of Sergeant William Charles Woodman 2nd Somerset Light Infantry and Florence Emily Leddra nee Lee. Died 12th July 1911 aged 8 months. In 1911 She was living with her parents and siblings, Doris Emily aged 5, William Charles aged 3, Florence Grace aged 2. Connie May was aged 5 months. in Malta.

Richard Charles WONNACOTT. Son of Sergeant Robert Wonnacott, 2nd Devonshire Regiment and Nellie nee Crispin. 1911 his family were living at Pembroke Garrison, Malta - Robert Wonnacott, his wife, Nellie aged 26 from Newton St Cryers, Devon, children, Winnifred Mary aged 4 (1907) born at Devonport, Robert Henry aged 2 born at Devonport and Richard Charles aged 2 months born at Valletta 1911 and died on the 21st June 1911 in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta.

Some notes from what remains of his army records.
Robert Wonnacott joined up aged 19 and 4 months occupation labourer and living with his parents at Chumleigh Devon. He had previously served with the 4th Devonshire Regiment. He was posted to Regimental Depot at Topsham Barracks (Now called Wyvern Barracks) Exeter . He was given the number of 4946 and rank was private. He was transferred to the 2nd battalion 7th April 1898 and his number was changed to 222406. . After training he was sent to fight in the Boer War, South Africa on 20 October 1899 to 4 July 1901, then back to England and then posted back to South Africa 8 November 1902 to 21 May 1903. From there he was posted to (it looks like Crete) on 8th January 1909 to 26 July 1909. Posted to Malta 27 July 1909 to 17 January 1912, Egypt 18 January 1912 to 24 September 191?, then home posting (UK) 4th April 1914 he was posted to France to 5th February 1919, returned after hostilities had ceased on the 6 February 1919. On 9 March 1919 he was discharged on the termination of his second period of engagement to his home No2 York, 5 Russell Street Newtown Exeter.
Promotions and service extensions
Lance Corporal 12 June 1902. Service extended 24 March 1904 to complete eight years with the colours. Corporal 26 October 1904. Service extended 12 August 1905 to complete twelve years with the colours. Acting Sergeant 4 February 1908. Re-engaged 10 February 1909 with the Devonshire Regiment to complete a period twenty one service with the colours. Sergeant 15 October 1910.
His first next of kin was his father John and brother Richard who was also serving in the Devonshire Regiment, his wife Nellie later became his next of kin.
25 January 1905 he married Miss Nellie Crispin at St Davids Church Exeter Devon. They had the following children -
Winifred Mary born 26 December 1906 at Devonport and baptised on the 16 January 1907 at the Garrison Depot, Exeter. Robert Henry born 14 June 1908 at Devonport. Muriel Braemar born 28 August 1909 at Exeter. Richard Charles born 25 January 1911 at Malta and died 19 February 1911 at Malta. Clifford Percival born 8 January 1914 at Cairo baptised in Cairo on the 1 February 1914.
