Nui Dat, South Vietnam. August, 1970. Following in his father's footsteps is Signalman Michael Mazengarb of Hunters Hill, NSW, a draftsman with the 104th Signals Squadron. Michael's father, Major Peter Mazengarb, served at Nui Dat for twelve months in 1967-68.

Private Clive Dreis of Hornsby, NSW, catches a water polo ball that had just been thrown to him. Both are members of the 131st Divisional Locating Battery.

Corporal Mario Apfelbaum of Newport, Vic, prepares a silk screen printed cover for the Order of Service to the used on Christmas Day in Catholic chapels at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base at Nui Dat. He is a member of the 1st Topographical Survey Unit based at Nui Dat.

Nui Dat, South Vietnam. 1969-09. 'Sheriff, Nui-Dat, Saloon' the name for one of the many soldiers' boozers at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base. A water buffalo skull is attached to the top of the sign. Many of the signs are often an instant memorial to the modern soldiers' ingenuity. The colourful names are often expressive of the character of the wet canteens.

Sergeant Bill Biglands of Townsville, Qld (left), and Gunner David Bourchier of Cheltenham, Vic, both members of 104 Field Battery, Royal Australian Artillery (RAA), despatch one of the last rounds to be fired by Australians from their base at Nui Dat. The last task given to the Battery was a firing mission to cover the extraction of other elements of the Nui Dat Force to Vung Tau

GENERAL CLEARING WORK BEING DONE BY MEMBERS OF 16 CONSTRUCTION SQUADRON, ROYAL AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERS (RAE), FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF THE 1ST ORDNANCE FIELD PARK WITH THE AUSTRALIAN TASK FORCE AT NUI DAT. THE AREA BEING CLEARED AND LEVELLED WILL MAKE WAY FOR A SIXTY FEET BY NINETEEN FEET STORAGE HUT.

Nui Dat, South Vietnam, 1966-12-05. The first Caribou aircraft from No. 35 Squadron RAAF touching down on the newly opened Luscombe Field airstrip at the Australian Task Force Base at Nui Dat. The airstrip was built by 1 Field Squadron Royal Australian Engineers and was named after Temporary Captain Bryan Luscombe, the first Australian Army pilot to die on operational duty, who was killed in Korea.
