OK. The wife and I watched Dune last night. I was hemming and hawing about paying US$24.99 for it and ambivalent about possible wokism.
Well, I had a few Manhattans and then suddenly got interested.
Stunning! It was simply awesome. There were a few wanderings from exact dialogs and a bit here and there changes in some sequences. But it was extremely enjoyable. Still helps to have read the first book!

Don't Look Up.
Waste of time. It was clearly intended by the creators as a clever satire of of the climate change skeptics, including a female Trump to make the point especially poignant, I guess. Instead, what they got is not so clever, boring and predictable exercise in self-parody of the way arrogant liberal mainstream tends to look down on everyone who dares to step outside of the bounds of their accepted truths.

Enjoying the French selection on Netflix.
Watchable with English subititles, "le grand pardon" is available on Netflix. The film (1982) inspired by the Godfather and loosely based on a Jewish "blackfeet" family (from French Algeria) that held an organized crime ring. Things look good before they go sour. The film had to be shot under police protection as the real family portrayed in the film was´nt that enthusiastic about being that popular.
I dislike Roger Hanin (the lead actor for his politics) but the film with the "blackfeet" talk and behavior brings back memories of my grandparents and their other expelled compatriots.

Science says things that some don´t want to hear and that some deform to take the shape of their political and social wishes.
I agree with you judgment. I did watch it as I love space stuff and it´s dissapointing that they did not include with the denier crazies the religious zealots from the other side.
Also a shame it´s not very funny when it could have been. They could have done much better and made a much better point.

I watched « Bitter Moon » yesterday evening.
Jebus, what a story. The American author who’s never been published, but lives in Paris and encounter a younger French gal in a bus. So far, so good before it turns out to be a huge mistake.
I have watched my share of « creepy » movies, this one is quite high in the list of creepiness.
Don’t you dare play with the heart and sentiments of a younger pretty lady.
All I have to say about it. Good one; nonetheless.
Bonus is young Hugh Grant playing in his early years.

I have watched Training Day for the first time ever, yes curiously.
Thanks to Netflix, it’s pretty awesome. Made me think of a 1990s “L.A Confidential” at least the rotten, corrupted cops.
Denzel is such a rogue MOFO in this one, Ethan Hawke is fine too. Enjoyed it immensely.

'Kate'
with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Woody Harrelson, Miku Patricia Martineau et. al.
After a hit gone wrong, assassin-for-hire Kate (Winstead) is poisoned by the Yakuza clan she'd crossed and resolves to use her last 24 hours to exact revenge on those who've betrayed her.
This movie represents an interesting exception to a rule. Most female action movie leads aren't very believable and only look badass thanks to the aid of accomodating stuntmen; but Winstead totally sells the part, it's obvious she prepared vigorously for her role (great gun play, no flinching on firing weapons etc. pp.) Unfortunately, the advantage over the rest of the genre is largely negated by 'Kate's' premise, as she supposedly kicks ass after having been poisoned with Polonium. (Remember Alexander Litvinenko?) The plot is a bit foreseeable, but nonetheless engaging.
As for the technical aspects, veteran Woody Harrelson is (strangely enough) the weakest part of the movie; Winstead and the Japanese cast totally upstage him. (By the way, isn't it weird how often Harrelson – the son of a mafia hitman – appears in movies involving professional murderers?) I read some reviews which found Winstead's Japanese side-kick annoying, but to be fair I wouldn't expect a teenager to always deal with someone's impending death in a mature way. What remains for me to say is the movie is satisfyingly violent and aesthetically pleasing.
All things considered, it's recommendable.

I have, in the cinema then and it was good. Just good.
Late career for Bob Odinkirk, but after his attorney role in the series we all know I’m glad to see him in a much manlier character.
Quite funny at times too that one. Dark humour.

I have watched yesterday evening Munich: The edge of war. Just has been released on Netflix.
You’ll recognize one of the main (young) character who played in the movie 1917.
It’s okay, might have had higher expectations but still good.
On a mere little details, both actors playing Hitler and Il Duce look like them as much as I ressemble Prince Charles.
Not bad in any way either. 7/10.

'John Wick: Chapter 3'
with Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane et. al.
Having broken the ultimate taboo of the criminal underworld, un-retired hitman John Wick (Reeves) has to stem a never-ending tide of pursuers.
The weakest entry of the franchise in my humble opinion. Yes, the action scenes are cool though repetitive (bound to happen if you crank it up to eleven too early, but don't want to take things to Fast & Furious-levels of ridiculousness just yet). They also seem more choreographed than before; it's painfully obvious that Reeves is pushing sixty. Then again, what does it matter? John Wick is essentially god at this point.
He kills 175 people in this thing – by inflicting on them wounds and injuries the likes of which he himself is able to survive almost effortlessly, including a ten-story fall. Which wouldn't be a problem if the franchise wasn't built on the premise of gritty realism (or the appearance of which).
What really kills this movie for me though (apart from Laurence Fishburne's over-acting) is the setting. I liked John Wick way better before all that cringey stuff about what's virtually a parallel dimension inhabited by a global steampunk mafia with Illuminati-style rites. Tonally the movie is just all over the place. 'John Wick: Chapter 3' swings from taking itself too seriously all the way over to parodying itself. I genuinely skipped parts.
I don't think I'll watch it again.

A small group of Turkish soldiers in a remote patrol station in eastern Turkey facing their near-certain death during a time the conflict between Turkish Army and separatist militant organization PKK reached its peak point
