M39 EMR, basically an accurized and refurbished M14 placed inside of a Sage chassis. Unnecessarily heavy that is ammunition sensitive and only runs well with the older variants of 7.62 NATO, meaning M80 ball and M118 non LR.
It got a very bad reputation because most often the ammunition being issued were belts of M80 that were delinked by the individuals that were assigned them that were from very old lots coming from the 60's and 70's, even 80's. POI shifts from POA were well known because of the different lots of ammo being issued. Op rods were bending because of it. And they were tanks in weight that before being outfitted, they were at bare bones 16.5 pounds. After adding the necessary DMR glass for passive and the PEQ for passive night fighting, this was a beast that approached or surpassed the weight of a bare bones M60 GPMG.
