Various German equipment "under new management".

Looks like daggers were a popular trophy

Among this captured gear someone found a sword - and I'm envious!

Agusta 109 captured by British troops during the Falklands War. At this point it was still wearing it's old Argentine registration (AE-331) but with Royal Marine titles. Eventually became ZE411 with the Army Air Corps but was in civilian colours and was used all the way up until about 2010 - reportedly used for inconspicuously transporting Special Forces around the UK.

Both the captured A109s are now in museums, one at the AAC collection at Middle Wallop, the other at the FAA museum at Yeovilton. They, together with two more purchased seperately, were flown by 8 Flight AAC in a variety of 'civilian' paint schemes for many years. They were, in my limited but happy experience, a lot more quiet and comfortable than most of the other 'cabs' that were around at the time.

I like this place, if it was mpnet I'd have had to delete 15 pictures of ear necklaces by now.

Please don't post pictures of ear necklaces, or a scalp rug...

Thought you were going to bring up the prosthetic leg...

Hey, all I know is that securing smart phones and recording devices in lockers prior to entering work areas will now expand to include the mess prior to drinking. :)

Shame about all that. I did see a few photos a while’s back worth leaking. It was a literal explosion of pink in the mess. Figurative shrapnel everywhere and all over the special trophies. Haha.

They replaced old mate with a Cavalryman... He had spent a bit of time with a USMC Recon unit. But they were a Lav mounted mob, not proper recon...

Here is an old thread with the same theme
