Two photos of USS Massachusetts (BB-59) taking on fuel from the Suamico class fleet oiler USS Saugatuck (AO-75) on April 20, 1945. The photos were both taken from the Essex class aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV-12).

At this time, the ships should be operating in the waters surrounding Okinawa. Massachusetts spent the majority of April around Okinawa, screening other ships (Especially carriers like Hornet) from Japanese air attacks.
