Hi,
I gradually got dragged into all this by my husband who has been WW1 mad for the past 40 years. We have taken about 12,000 CWGC graves for others. Every Christmas since 2014 I have done a Advent Remembrance tree for our local Tree Festival which gets about 13.000 visitors in 6 days. I always do an extra book of information in the hope of inspiring peoples interest. Got interviewed on radio one year.
I also research church war memorials and did one this year with 120 on! Whew
I volunteered in a military museum for 4 years, and am going back again next year. I also volunteer in Museum where we have all the Rex Whistler archives and so now as a fan of his and having visited his grave, I know a bit about Operation Goodwood.
Coincidentally my relative is buried 20 yards from him in the same graveyard and I am still writing to a comrade of his who served with him, he is 96!
I have a silly sense of humour and don't take things too seriously as you can see by my user name.
