Charlie company 12th Light Infantry Battalion will replace Alpha Company as part of the NATO Response Force after completing the NATO evaluation and feedback program.

Georgia permanently provides one company to the NRF in a rotation cycle.

A farewell ceremony was held for the 22nd battalion, 2nd Infantry Brigade and a reinforced company of 4th Mechanised Brigade before their departure to Afghanistan as part of the Resolute Support mission.

The 22nd battalion will replace 11th battalion, 1st Infantry Brigade in providing protection to Bagram airbase and military assets while the mechanised company will protect mission headquarters in Kabul.

The recon company of 1st Infantry Brigade completed a week long evaluative field exercise in a simulated 'behind-enemy-lines' scenario. The unit carried out various tactical tasks such as raids, ambushes, capture of hvts and dealing with enemy contact and indirect fire as well as calling for indirect fire support.
