Has anyone seen this superb HBO 7-part mini-series, 'Generation Kill'? It's based on the book by Evan Wright, a 'Rolling Stone' journalist who was embedded with the US Marines 1st Recon Battalion.

It tells the true story of Recon Marines who took part in the Invasion of Iraq in 2003, as they fight their way from the Kuwait border to Baghdad and in true HBO style, is totally uncompromising in detail.

A friend loaned me his DVD copy of the series and I highly recommend it.

The book and DVD are on sale from Amazon:
