1st Ukrainian KIA for September. Sergeant Oleksandr Gricanjuk 48 years old 24th Infantry Brigade succumbed to his wounds in the wee hours of September 1st, 2019. He was wounded back on August 25, 2019 when a mortar round splinters penetrated his vest and ripped open his abdomen area.

Seems like Ukraine is finally trying out a new military parachute (yes i know they tried another one before but they seem to play around with a lot civilian systems

Bad deal on strategic level. Lots of rumbling in the background from Ukraine's European "allies", but Ukrainian government decided to do what Israel does when it comes to its own citizens and bring home the POWs and hostages of Kremlin back and price be damned.
On a personal level, I have to comment that I sincerely hope that Ukrainian government will recognize SBU operatives and the servicemen of the Ukrainian armed forces some of whom sacrificed their lives during high risk operations on enemy controlled territory which involved capturing high value targets that made this exchange possible.

That's also bad for ukrainian propaganda because in this swap ukrainians were changed on ukrainians (23 of 35 prisoners released by Ukraine were ukrainians, not Russians). It makes statements of ukrainian propaganda about fighting against "Russian army" utterly stupid.

Funeral of Eduard Shahov in his native village in Kherson region, Southern Ukraine. He left no family of his own.
