Corporal Samuel MERRYLEES. No 4 Battery, 1st Brigade, Royal Artillery who was killed at Fort Manoel 22nd December 1883 aged 37. On the 21st March 1869 at Poplar Middlesex he married widow, Sarah Jane Merrylees nee Boulter. She was widow of William Thomas Merrylees. He gave his rank as Sergeant when he got married.
