Son of Charles and Henrietta Harper (nee Bain). Born at Tottenham. His father was granted a war gratuity 10 May 1916 and revised 24 October 1919 t0 Mrs Henrietta Harper.
In 1911 Census he is registered as Richard Artus Russell, step-son to Charles Harper.

At rest at Spoilbank Cemetery, Belgium.

Commemorated on a family headstone at Winshill St Mark Churchyard, Staffordshire.
