Lance Corporal John BATE No. B/203470 1st Bn. Rifle Brigade
Died 20 November 1916 aged 38 of wounds in Germany as a Prisoner of War.

Formerly C/7985 King's Royal Rifle Corps.
Husband of Clara Bate and she was awarded a gratuity 7 June 1917 and revised 7 October 1919.

At rest at Niederzwehren Cemetery, Kassel, Hessen, Germany.

Commemorated on a family headstone at

Winshill St Mark Churchyard, Staffordshire.
