John Maxwell PERCEVAL

In loving memory of John Maxwell PERCEVAL, General, C.B. late of Dillon House, Downpatrick. Born 27th September 1814, died 24th January 1900. Promotions and regiments. He was Ensign with 12th of Foot, East Suffolk Regiment as Ensign on the 21st June 1833, Lieutenant on the 18th March 1836, Captain, 8th May 1838, Major 14th April 1846, Lieutenant Colonel 2nd April 1850, Colonel, 28th November 1854, Major General, 8th August 1864, Lieutenant General 14th February 1873, General, 1st October 1877: Colonel on the 97 of Foot, 21st March 1874, and Colonel of the Suffolk Regiment 28th February 1883. This plaque is in Down Cathedral, Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland
