Lieutenant, Temporary Captain, John Crosbie BENGOUGH Royal Gloucestershire Hussars Yeomanry, B Squadron, Berkeley Troop, A.D.C. to General Peyton of the Ridge, Wotton-under-Edge fell in action February 26th 1916 in the cavalry charge of the Dorset Yeomanry against the Senussi, Western Frontier, Egypt aged 27. Son of John Alan George and Rosa Marguerite nee Crosbie of Tocknells House, Painswick, Gloucestershire. Commemorated on a memorial in St Mary's church, Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire, and is buried at Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
