Extract from UK, De Ruvigny's Roll of Honour, 1914-1919
John Bremner Wright. Private No. 43657 Machine Gun Corps. Son of William Wright of 107 Agincourt Avenue Belfast, warehouseman, by his wife Mary Bremner daughter of late William McBean. Born 01 June 1892. Educated Model School Belfast. Was employed by Messrs John Arnott and Co, Belfast, Woollen manufacturers. Joined the London Irish Rifles (TF) 18 November 1915. Transferred to the Machine Gun Corps the following July. Served with the Exepeditionary Force in France from 20 August and died at St Luke’s War Hospital, Halifax 11 Nov 1917 from wound received in action 21 Sept, previously. Buried in the City Cemetery, Belfast. The Chaplin and nurses in France and Halifax wrote in the highest terms of his patience during great suffering
