WILD Harry Ernest. Acting Chief Petty Officer, 181904 Royal Navy on HMS Biarritz. Late of the Imperial Trans-Antaric Expedition 1914-1917. Died of Typhoid (enteric fever) in Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta 10th March 1918 aged 39 years. Born 10 August 1879 at Nettleton Lincoln enlisted 27 October 1894 occupation prior to enlistment still at school. He was awarded the Albert Medal for gallant conduct in saving life in Shackleton Antarctic Expedition. Miss B Bryant of 49 Park Road Gillingham Kent was informed of his death. This stone was erected by the Officers and Ship's Company. At rest in Plot C Grave 365 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
