- ADAMS Charles William. Able Seaman J/17911 Royal Navy on HMS Asphodel. Born 8 September 1896 at Birmingham Warwickshire to Henry and Sarah Ann Adams, 51 Mary Road, Handsworth, Birmingham. Enlisted 4 June 1912 on HMS Impregnable occupation prior to enlistment painters assistant. Died 2nd April 1918 aged 21 when a gun explodeded on board his ship whilst at sea during firing practice. His mother was informed of his death. At rest in Plot C Grave 368 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
