George McCORMICK

George McCORMICK. Chief Officer (Mate)142504, Merchant Navy on S.S. Castlehill (Belfast). Born 112 October 1914 to George and Isabella McCormick, nee McClurg of Killyleagh, County Down. Died at sea 2 March 1941 aged 26 as the result of the sinking of his ship in the Bristol Channel by an U-Boat.

Commemorated on a family headstone in Killyleagh 1st Presbyterian Churchyard, Killyleagh.
Commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, London.
