- George McCORMICK. Chief Officer (Mate)142504, Merchant Navy on S.S. Castlehill (Belfast). Born 112 October 1914 to George and Isabella McCormick, nee McClurg of Killyleagh, County Down. Died at sea 2 March 1941 aged 26 as the result of the sinking of his ship in the Bristol Channel by an U-Boat.
Commemorated on a family headstone in Killyleagh 1st Presbyterian Churchyard, Killyleagh.
Commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, London.
