Charles HERON, J.P. late Major, Royal Irish Rifles. Resided at Tullyveery House, Killyleagh. Born 22 March 1892 to James and Letita Heron, nee Heron of Tullyvery House, 7 Ardigon Road, Killyleagh County Down. Lieutenant with 2nd Royal Irish Rifles, promoted to Captain in 5th Battalion , wounded 8 May 1915. Died 11 November 1973 aged 82.

Charles Alan Colin HERON. O.B.E. Late Colonel 485743. Commanding Officer 3rd Staffordshire Regiment, formerly 1st Mercian Volunteers. Born 1925, died 17 July 2019 aged 72. Promoted to Lt Colonel 31 December 1985. Expiry date of engagement in the army 25 November 2001.
