- CHAPPELL Fred. Corporal, 2069708, 173 Tunnelling Coy., Royal Engineers, died 1st April 1942, aged 41 years. The son of Joseph and Esther Ann Chappell of Sheffield. The husband of Margaret Chappell, of Boothstown, Lancashire. Inscribed on his memorial,
"I miss his voice and kindly ways with him I spent my happiest days, Margaret."
HAYES Henry. Sapper, 3452214, 173 Tunnelling Coy., Royal Engineers, died 1st April 1942, aged 23 years.
LEIGHTON William Keir. Sapper, 2763355, 173 Tunnelling Coy., Royal Engineers, died 1st April 1942, aged 29 years. The son of Mary Leighton and stepson of Andrew Robertson, of Cambuslang, Lanarkshire. Inscribed on his memorial, "In mind a daily thought in heart a silent sorrow."
