LONG, Francis Stuart, Lieutenant, 1/5th South Lancashire Regiment killed in action 8th September 1916 aged 19 at Delville Wood. Son of Alice Long of Geranium Cottage, Park Lane, Reigate and the late Francis Long, M.A. His father on the 11/10/1920 applied for his son’s medals and they were set to him in Weaverham. Commemorated his parents memorial in St Mary's Churchyard, Weaverham Churchyard He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
