EDWIN HAYWARD

Extended Description
.Edwin HAYWARD. Private, 23142, 4th Worcestershire Regiment. Born in 1886 and lived at Arlingham, Gloucestershire to Daniel and Esther Rowles nee Merrett. 1891 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Church Road Arlingham. 1901 residing with is parents and siblings at the Cross (Crofs), Arlingham. 1911 farm servant to farmer Arkell and his family at Boxbush Farm, Ashleworth, nr Gloucester. Died 21 November 1915 aged 30 years from injuries received in action at the Dardanelles. His mother was granted a war gratuity 2 March 1916, revised 21 August 1919.

His brother Private 4913 Sidney HAYWARD. 1st South Wales Borderers. Son of Daniel and Esther R Hayward, of Arlingham, Gloucestershire. Enlisted 2 April 1895, civilian occupation, Labourer. Died 31 October 1902, 30. Interred at Peshawar India. The following were granted a gratuity on the 15 May 1903. Mother, brothers, John, Frederick, Edwin, Walter, Samuel and Giles, sisters Beatrice, Ethel Annie and Lillian Blanch.

Commemorated on a family memorial in St Mary's Churchyard, Arlingham, Gloucestershire.
