Edward HEARNE. O.B.E

Edward HEARNE. O.B.E. Major, Royal Army Veterinary Corps, died on 3 Feb 1932 in a polo accident aged 49. Memorial erected by the officers of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.

At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P5/R5/G3

Major Edward Hearne OBE RAVC qualified MRCVS (Dublin) on 19 Dec 1905. He saw service in South Africa in the AVD/AVC from 20 Oct 1909 to 19 Sept 1914. During the Great War, he was in France and Belgium with the BEF. After the war Major Hearne served with the British Army of occupation on the Rhine (BAOR).
1919 Birthday Honour appointment by King George V. OBE to Captain Edward Hearne.
