Argentina:
The United States gave the green light to a sale of 24 F-16 fighter aircraft equipped with air-to-air missiles from Denmark to Argentina and is working on a financing package for 40 million dollars to facilitate the purchase by the government Argentina, an operation of enormous geopolitical impact in which Washington competes directly with China, which has offered the sale of JF-17 aircraft from Pakistan.

The Government must now decide whether to carry out this operation, whether to accept China's offer, or whether to postpone any decision to modernize the Air Force and Navy fleet. In addition to the F-16 sale, the US government also paved the way for a purchase of four P-3 aircraft from Norway.

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen signed a letter of intent with his Argentinian counterpart, Luis Alfonso Petri, in Buenos Aires on March 26.

This letter paves the way for the potential sale of 24 F-16 fighter jets from Denmark to Argentina. The sale received the green light from the US government, which plays a crucial role in authorizing the export of American-made military equipment.

For Denmark, this agreement is part of a broader military modernization program. As Denmark transitions to the F-35 fighter jet, they are phasing out their F-16 fleet. This sale allows Denmark to strategically re-allocate these aircraft while bolstering Argentina’s air defense capabilities.

According to @Infodefensa the #EcuadorianNavy is planning to procure from #ItalianNavy the last pair of Maestrale-class frigates (commissioned in the early 1980s) in order to replace its two Condell-class frigates (see photos 2 and 3). Note that the largest surface combatants of the #EcuadorianNavy are these two Condell-class frigates (a Leander-class variant) which where built in the United Kingdom for the #ChileanNavy in the early 1970s. They were both sold to Ecuador in 2008 after 33 years of service.

Only 50% of the Air Force's Kfir fleet would be flying.

The W Radio Station was able to learn that there are at least 9 aircraft that have gone out of operation, which has caused the FAC to be in the yellow stage.

The W was able to learn that there is concern in the Colombian Air Force, due to what is happening with the Kfir planes. To date, several aircraft have already stopped flying, due to maintenance issues, spare parts, or because they are simply on their way out, as has been warned for several years by the institution itself.

That is, according to what La W knew, to date, 50% of the Kfir fleet would be flying. This has meant that at this time, the FAC's combat aviation is in the yellow arc stage, which means that the planes cannot be brought to their maximum performance due to structural defects.
The serious thing is that at the moment there would be between 8 and 9 planes available, but at the end of the year there could be up to 5 fewer.
The W was able to learn that, in his most recent visit to the United States, the commander of the Military Forces, General Helder Giraldo, announced that, together with Major General Van McCarty, commander of the South Carolina National Guard of United States, several agreements were reached to strengthen military capabilities in Colombia.
Among the agreements reached is training for the construction of railway infrastructure in Colombia and thus comply with President Gustavo Petro's order to use the country's railways again. The agreement with the United States is expected to begin in 2024.
For this reason, the National Guard made its machinery capabilities available for the instant installation of military bridges.
The fleet of Black Hawk helicopters of the National Guard was also made available. In this way, a study will begin to reach an agreement and thus strengthen air capabilities, so the project will be headed by Major General Juan Carlos Correa Consuegra, deputy chief of Strategic Planning of the General Command of the Military Forces. The objective is to receive Black Hawk aircraft.
On the other hand, the ability to acquire an updated version of the F16 type aircraft was also analyzed, given the imminent departure of the Kfir aircraft from the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC). In fact, some of these institution aircraft are already on the ground because they have completed their cycle.
