Not an isolated incident. This happens a lot. Mother nature took over there. Ukrainians do react quickly and immediately deploy aviation. 2 x An-32P were on the scene within an hour.

Fires continue to rage. Not the mother nature doing, but of human origin. National Guard special forces(!!!) units badly needed at the front have been deployed to the area to hunt for arsonists

I just watched the HBO series on this incident..scary and unbelievable.

According to few analysises of the series, dispite what they claimed, it included a decent number of things that did not happen at all and presented things that did happen in ways that did not reflect reality. Which is fine if are presenting it as fiction based off actual events, but it seemed like they marketed it as closer to what actually happened than should have.

Plus the they deliberately avoided talking to experts in radiation or medical personal. Instead basing it off interviews with journalists, eye witness testimony and anti-nuclear activists. So they got a mix of parts being quite accurate, parts that were always speculation, parts that are a sort of modern folk tails, parts modified for drama and parts indicating they did not understand the subject they were trying to portray.

If you wanna watch an objective expression on what really happened on Chernobyl you might want to watch this document which is being told by Velery Starodumov, one of the main coordinators of the rooftop liquidators. It has pretty raw and unique footage and narration on the accident zone (the famous term of biorobots has told by Staduromov on this way before than the series) which were direclty inspired by HBO in chernobyl series.

Military firefighters and engineer units in Chernobyl area.

Awesome footage taken from An-32P firefighting aircraft. Just scroll past the talking parts.

Can you post the links to the analysis you reference? After listening to the Chernobyl podcast I go the impression the series attempted to stay close to the facts, apart from the court case, as life is never that good and artistic licence was applied, as well as simplification of characters.

I did not save any links, and nothing looked familiar when scanning search results from either google or youtube. Granted some of the other critiques may address similar points.
