The Ching Chiang class (Chinese: 錦江) is a class of patrol ships/corvettes built by CSBC for the Republic of China Navy.

Named after the Jingjiang river in Guangdong, China, this class of vessels were initially equipped with the HF-1 anti-ship missile, one 40 mm anti-aircraft gun, and one 20 mm gun.

Beginning in 2012 the ROCN began upgrading the Ching Chiang class to counter the increasing capabilities of the PRC. The primary improvements were the fitting of four HF-3 supersonic anti-ship missile launchers, and the fitting of the OTO Melara 76 mm naval gun in place of the 40 mm gun on certain vessels.

Lieutenant-Commander Henry Stoker, R.N., commanding H.M.A.S. AE2, arrived at Lemnos on 21st April 1915. The submarine had been undergoing repairs in Malta.
c_ohc=uhEGm_InI4cAb6e18zS&_nc_ht=scontent.fper11-1.jpg

The boat was assigned to the Dardanelles Campaign, and was the first submarine to successfully penetrate the waterway and enter the Sea of Marmara. With orders to "run amok" inside Turkish territory, AE2 operated for five days before mechanical faults forced her to the surface, where she was damaged by the torpedo boat Sultanhisar. The submarine was scuttled by her crew, all of whom were captured.

Philadelphia Shipyard 1947. the ignominious wreck with the red arrow was designated IX-40. The IX is used for Naval vessels that don't fit into any existing class of ship. She is none other than the protected cruiser USS Olympia in her final configuration. The Olympia was decommissioned in 1921, redesignated IX-40 in 1931, then sat in the yard while the world passed her by. In the dry dock are two battleships resurrected from the mud of Pearl Harbor, being prepared for the scrapper. Forward of the Olympia sits a decommissioned Iowa class battleship. Olympia sat in the yard for over 35 years before efforts were made to restore her.
