Photo of damaged Sea Wolf submarine USS Connecticut after striking something underway.......I'm no bloody sea vessel engineer/architect, marine engineer, or submariner, but that is some bit of damage for an underway impact...she must have hit something pretty hard to do all that!!

Can't see the image.
There are rumors that, judging by China's reaction, USS Connecticut was spying on Chinese bases in the South China Sea region and collided with Chinese unmanned underwater craft.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that on October 15, at about 17.00 local time, the US Navy destroyer Chafee (DDG 90), which has been in the Sea of Japan for several days, approached the territorial waters of the Russian Federation and "attempted to cross the state border." It is emphasized that, acting within the framework of the international rules of navigation, the ship "Admiral Tributs" took a course to drive out the intruder from the Russian territorial waters. "Chafee, convinced of the determination of the Russian ship's crew not to violate the state border, changed direction and at 17.50 turned back on the opposite course, when there was less than 60 meters to the "Admiral Tributs".

The US Navy has published photographs of the "Admiral Tributs". The incident occurred on October 15, 2021.
