Cheers @Bombardier , I marched in Perth city this morning. First time I've ever marched there.
My last time marching on ANZAC was back in 2001. I'm the current president of the HMAS Darwin Association (WA) and we were able to fundraise for our own unit banner which we paraded today. We had 50+ plus ex members of the ships company, originals like me right up to the last crew in 2017.
The march itself was brilliant. A lot more vets marching (or walking is more accurate) this year mainly because COVID had the march cancelled for 3 years. St George's Terrace (the main drag) in Perth was simply packed with people for the entire length of the march, around 1 kilometre in length. The atmosphere was simply amazing, the crowds applauding and calling out to every unit as they passed by.
