After the British defeat at Isandlwana news and survivors filtered back to the Mission House and Field Hospital set up at Rorke's Drift. Makeshift defences were set up, and the Maission Garrison set in for a siege by overwhelming numbers of Zulu Forces. This photograph of some of the men of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot, comprised mainly of Brummies and Black Country boys (despite history knowing the Regiment as the South Wales Boarderers). It was these men held the Hospital and Missions Station of Rourkes Drift from massed attacks by a Zulu Impi numbering around 4000 lasting for just over 12 hours.
In that time the garrison, numbering at the most 150 men fired off 19'000 rounds of rifle cartridge, killing a confirmed 350 Zulu Warriors, and injuring another 500, all for the loss of 17 dead and 15 wounded.
The action is notable for two reasons. Firstly it came the day after the disastrous battle of Isandlwana, and it's also notable as having the largest number of Victoria Crosses awarded in a single action.
The events of this battle were immortalised in the 1964 film Zulu, starring Stanley Baker and Michael Caine.

Most people will have heard of or seen the film Zulu, and the later sequel Zulu Dawn, both films were based around the events of 22nd-24th January 1879 and the start of the Anglo-Zulu War.
At the Battle of Isandlwana in Natal, a Zulu Force numbering some 20'000 surrounded and massacred a British Column, comprising around 1800 troops and 400 civilians. The bulk of the British Force comprised 5 companies of the 1st Battalion 24th Regiment of Foot, then known as the South Warwickshire Regiment.

Kiew Operation April-May 1920
The hostilities between Bolshevik Russia and Poland started as early as 1919. In April 1920, Poland and Ukraine liberated Kiev from Bolshevik control. However, in the summer of 1919, the Bolsheviks managed to push the Poles back to the Vistula, although they were eventually defeated. The second Polish victory in the Battle of Neman finally brought the war to an end.

Centipede in Viet Nam. I have experience with them. While waiting for the cook to announce dinner was ready one fine day, I was leaning against the sandbags surrounding it when something tickled my arm. It was one about this size. They creeped my out a lot more than kraits!
